A poem aboout the beauty of winter.

A cold winter day
The earth in its sleep
Shrouded in the snow
Ice layered deep
White looking pure
Sparkles in the sun
Frozen water crystals
Identical, not one
A deep hushed quiet
Put upon the world
Stops all the rush
Like rain drops now pearled
Trees standing stoic
Their branches like lace
Wrapped in wet flakes
With winter’s embrace
Animals hidden
In months long naps
As in winters of old
The cold months lapse.
