A poem in lyrics stating what obligation to love is.
A Complication Upon Celebration
Letters To Loretta
My mother always said that I was born inside her heart
And there’s nothing in this world that could take us apart
My father tried to teach me how to be a man
He taught me how to sail a boat and to find dry land
My sister gave me joy cause it spilled out from her smile
And it comforted me with such a warmth as I was a child
And there was happiness beyond the sorrow and the pain
But how they ever found it I could just not explain
I guess time has a way of making everything alright
There’s just not enough of it
So we’ll drink and we’ll sing and we’ll celebrate this lie
And hope that it will last
Mornings gone, the day has already past
My grandfather was all wise and he couldn’t love me more
Than when he wrote back the letters I left on his floor
My grandmother was all sweetness and it sparkled in her eyes
And it bathed her precious children as they came inside
And they held onto each other with all the strength they had
They loved with devotion beyond which I could understand
I guess fear has a way of making sleep unbearable
When the days seem hard and long
But we’ll cry and we’ll dance and stumble into love
In awkward perfect grace
The moon is gone and the sun has took its place
Yeah the moon is gone and the sun has took its place
I guess love has a way of making life more beautiful
Just hope that it won’t break
Like a heart, easily, like me…
