I wrote this poem after I left home for school this January. Mother, this is especially for you. I miss you!
Vexing my mind is this deafening silence;
My once active self is now going pathetic,
I tried to stop it,
But my heart cries in violence;
I am now a stranger
In this known environment.
The mango trees are standing still,
And I no more see their leafy arms sway in the air;
Am I not used to this kind of view?
Why in this place I feel so anew?
My stomach reached its fill,
As I sipped my cup of chocolate;
But my heart is hungrier,
For the one who made me sleep so late
I am longing for your hug’s warmth,
Though, the weather is so hot
I can’t help myself of being sad;
I miss you so much and I am going mad
How I wish I didn’t have to be far;
Hope I could pack my things and go back
To where you are,
Mother, seeing you made me happier;
But, leaving you at home is much
A heartache to bear.
