A poem of reflection on great times in an old convertible.

A DAY IN THE SUN

Dr. James E. Martin

©February, 2011

The wind blew wildly through my hair

As I sped away to who knows where.

I listened to the engine and its’ subtle roar

It sounded sweeter than ever before.

A sunny day and a gentle breeze

Provided all that aweary soul could please.

An old convertible completely restored

Removes all fear of being totally bored.

Hours were spent in the sun’s warm rays,

Remembering earlier frigid days.

Reliving memories from an earlier time

Sure made a senior feel might fine.
