Dance, Music, Fun and Laughter, all these contribute to the joys of dancing.

MY THANKS TO THE RYTHMS AND PATTERNS THAT SPRANG FORTH AND EMBRACED ME.

When I was young, the energy overtook me.

Oh… I can do all the latin dances,

and yes my body was able to do as I willed.

Ballroom?… Ha, that was for them Ol’ Folk.

I was in love with rhythm.

Now?…I too am an Ol’ Folk,

and in love with Style.

What a pity they didn’t go hand in hand for me.

But since I have tasted them both, I am fortunate I think, and rich very rich.

I CAN DANCE

“The Foxtrot”

Soft and Tender

Sweet Romance

The thoughts this dance must hold

Each moment of endearing love

Each night as stars unfold

The poise and stance

The close tete’s

Seal lovers and their dreams

And keeps the memories locked up

In songs eternally

And when they hear the tune of old

The dance beckons them near

Reminding of the promises they

Whispered yesteryear.

“The Swing”

Oh what fun my feet endure

The laughter that you bring

You raise in me

The beat of life

The unity of swing

And never guessing there could be

A world of social joy

A place where rhythm meets

To laugh with every girl and boy

“The Waltz”

 To touch the wind

And ride on the waves

Of you my love

    That around and around

My heart can go.

And I see your neck

Slender and tall

Elegant, like a swan

Settling on the still pond

To rest forever in your song.

 “The Tango”

Chasing, forever chasing

If I could meet your eyes just once…

But I tremble at the passion

And the fire that would ignite my sould.

Oh don’t, please don’t strive to see my face,

I will deny, yes even defy you..

And I will always run

And you will always chase, Forever chase.

“The Rhumba”

I touch the excitement in you

My feet guided into motion, carrying me…

Whimsically to your shores.

Dreaming of lovers, sunsets, beaches

                    And you……

Bring my moods home, Sweet Rhumba

Till they find their anchor in your

Sweeping waves of honest desire.

“The Cha Cha”

As wild as the stallions on the desert plains

Who prance…. Keep my legs high

Dance

Move

Timid and Rythmic

Whose breath is like a whip

And will drive in till all of it is known

And made known

And the dance becomes tamed…….

If at all it can be tamed…..

“The Mambo”

Was it the twirl?

Or maybe when I whirled?

I can’t seem to recall when it was

That you found me

But you were sweet and tender toward me

Inviting and all approachable

Reaching down to my ankles

And guiding me into wuiet motion

Oh…I recall now..

I was waiting for something different

         And you stepped in

             Nice and easy.

“The Samba”

From across the islands

rhythm calls

rising joy finds its way to the soles of my feet

I will skip like a pebble

Cast with accuracy

To the north, to the south

Moving ever

Keeping time with time

Until all energy spent

I can be satisfied in where I come to rest.
