A deep million metaphors in every inch and thing…
A deep million metaphors
In every inch and thing,
And I want to write about this one.
A deep million metaphors
Expanded through the globes
Through that Sunday sidewalk
Where I saw your face.
Through those trillion blades of grass
Each one crooning whispering
Milky dew runs down
To the river, down.
Through that sky flying by
Away overhead our restlessness
Our infinite scheming dreams
Far below our caverns deep
Filled with yarns of threaded things
Through those fires and earthy rock
Singing chanting earthy songs
Running rolling back
To that summer Sunday sidewalk
Passing by, noticing you
Notice the sun and cobbled street
Noticing the globes
Round me spinning
A deep million metaphors
