Perception of others.

Can you tell a book by its cover?

Can you build a house without plans?

You see a person.

You hear a person.

But what can you tell?

Maybe you see them as normal, maybe not.

Maybe you hear some odd expressions,

Which give you another thought?

Whatever you think or appraise,

Be reminded of yourself.

Although there are some who act a little different,

And their look has another shade or tone.

Some have gotten short changed in the book of fairness,

Some have gotten too much.

Be aware that there are no universals.

When taking account of a person,

Wondering what they are about.

Don’t be too quick or careful,

Don’t let your ignorance just spew out.

Be real in your assessment.

Understanding someone is more than just a sight,

Unless you can read their mind.

For all you can gather,

From all that you hear and see,

Be assured your perspective is only a façade.

To really understand that individual,

There’s only one way to be.

It’s necessary to see through their eyes,

I can only imagine what I’ll see.

Before you judge…interview, listen, and care.
