you were strong and i was little
a king to the people, i a princess
you had magical powers, i had none
you would say god walked past by and he talked to you under the moon when i was asleep
you would tell me of his dogs in heaven and his beautiful angels
i thought i was special because of you
time passes and with it i age
i began to see the world clearer, through my own eyes and not yours
you let the people down,
i make sense of the world and begin to see all your flaws
you not so perfect anymore
and the magical powers, i asked you that day, u said you had none even though i wanted to believe u were special
you were the best father in the world, a great king as well
maybe i am not so special anymore
you just like all the other fathers and me just like all the other daughters
you are not so strong anymore
you ail and take the wrong path, you shout
you are not so gentle anymore
how can i forget the father i had
the one who was perfect, strong, and different from all
free from all wrong
gods chosen king, i would hear
now just a man, an ageing man with flaws
great kings die great
they do not change, but you have
