A piece I wrote a while ago, about making your dreams a reality, catching those nightmares & making them into dreams
I’m too good of a person,
To be treated like shit,
Having fallen dreams,
and a broken wish,
To give a wonderful greeting to you,
but in return,
receive a dreadful diss,
To give my heart and my all,
Caring for you through every stone in the path,
But then to be tossed around by you,
Like a ragdoll in wrath,
Seeming like my feelings don’t even matter at all,
Through it all,
I gave you chances and chances,
Never once giving up on you,
But at the end of the day,
You’re going to receive a cold shoulder,
There is nothing else I can do,
Through the passion, heart, and commitment,
All I see is the pain, agony, and resentment,
It’s like i’m all alone,
On this dark, and dreamless,
Unforgiving, lonely road,
The light is there to take,
But, you block my path,
Like a fork in the road,
The path I choose can be a mistake,
But I stride,
With a smile on my face,
Confident vibe,
I’ll truly embrace,
Brave and ecstatic I march,
Knocking down every challenge you throw ahead of me,
Because it was me all along,
The strength i’d ignited,
I couldn’t yet see inside of me,
Till I realized my true potential,
A solider,
A fighter,
A king,
A true dreamer,
Even thou you’d done me wrong,
I’d become a forgiver,
My destiny had yet to be seen,
But I watched out for all the holes and errors,
Cleaned up my mistakes,
Justice proceeds those errors,
Taking me down that victorious,
Sun driven,
Wonderful, exhilarating, yellow brick road,
I’ve made my choice,
I may have made it all alone,
But…
What you didn’t know is you helped me,
Your darkness gave me light,
Your insults gave me the will to fight,
Telling me to give up,
Made me wanna preceed,
Saying I’d never make it,
Made me believe,
That I can succeed,
What I think I can do,
I can,
Never wasted my brain
Because it was my core,
That led me to do anything I put my mind into,
It made me soar,
Like an Eagle over the mountains,
I thank you,
I was making the decisions all along,
But u’d seem to be the true motivator behind my drive,
That extra umph in my walk,
That gave me that compelling stride,
It was you all along,
Now you’ve witnessed my true progression,
The test of life,
You we’re the Ace that passed my test,
That gave me transition,
From what was once a fearful little boy,
To a strong and confident,
Loving,
Grown,
Man
