A poem about all the places one might visit and the uncertainty of it all.
I found many a world and many a land
on which my feet will never stand
It cannot be seen without minds eye
Is there truly a place where such beasts fly?
In the realm of tricks and riddles, schemes
Imagination rules like the land of dreams
I read the worlds into view
And every one brings something new
A name, a place, a villains face
A heat can race, a fear can rise
That a curdling scream cannot disguise
It always ends with foes and friends
A magical slight and the victor’s plight
I know of places that cannot be found
Above, Along or below the ground
It took me years to figure it out
I believed it all without a doubt
Creativity reels within and throughout
There were Knights in the Night
and hairs on the hare
And truth be told be it brave or bold
A passage fare is rarely fair
I’ve journeyed here and there
But I’ll never reach most everywhere
Because before I find my death
Before I take my final breath
I wont have time to read them all
I’m sure I’ll miss a masquerade ball
But I will read forever more
Tho some may find it ever a chore
If you are one who is not sure
Do me a favor and go on tour
Sit in a chair, flip the pages, beware
Cause you never know what kind
you’re likely to find
If you dare to look in a Fantasy book
