Growing up in the home of a Priestood holder, where the Spirit can stay and love is always priority, is the best thing for children.

Peace and comfort,

love and smiles,

A radiant beam

that shines for miles.

Cleanliness and morals,

discipline and rules,

Priesthood power

of the most powerful tools.

A place made of love

where sunshine can roam,

All that is good

in a father’s home.

Traditions and games,

memories for life-

Comfort from sorrow,

protection from strife.

Scriptures and prayers,

the truth and the light-

Family Home Evening,

a beautiful sight.

A place made of love

where sunshine can roam,

All that is good

in a father’s home.

The truth of His gospel,

the light of His son-

The Spirit to guide,

and evil overcome.

Here is the place

where all this is found,

Where family is priority

all year around.

A place made of love

where sunshine can roam,

All that is good

in a father’s home.

Where children can laugh

and grandchildren play,

Where friends are welcome

and the Spirit can stay.

Where I want to grow up

and become who I will,

On a sturdy foundation

where I can stand still.

A place made of love

where sunshine can roam,

All that is good

in a father’s home.

A place to revisit

as my life carries on,

To think of the memories

and where time has gone.

And I’ll think of its motto,

strong words, though few-

“The gospel is true,

and I love you!”

A place made of love

where sunshine can roam,

All that is good

in my father’s home.

Johanna, thank you for sharing a such a deep part of yourself. Your passion reflects through the words that you have wrote and if I must say, this poem would make an uplifting song. Country or Christian gospel would be the best fit, I would assume.

Keep writing, because you inspire me to keep reading your work.

    May God Bless Your Way!

    Dear Nelson,

Again, thank you so much. Your comments really mean a lot to me. And I’ll take the song idea to heart- I often write lyrics as well as poetry.

    Good luck,

    Johanna Welling
