A poem about unknown lasts in love.

Image via Wikipedia

If I knew that would be our last kiss,
I would have etched it into time.
Until I was sure there was no release,
I would have locked your lips to mine.

If I knew that would be our last look,
I would have held your eyes in stare.
My gaze would have recorded,
So my mind could keep us there.

If I knew that talk would be our last,
I would have made each whisper shout.
I would have chosen my words with heed,
To alleviate your burdened doubt.

If I knew that would be our last embrace,
I would have never let us walk away.
Until our bodies blended into one,
I would have insisted that we stay.

If I knew that would be our final scene,
I would have rewritten the story’s end.
Back to the beginning I would have gone,
To the time when you were still my friend……
