A Fool

They all tried to warn me,

said that it just wasn’t right.

My eyes  never seemed brighter

and my heart seemed to take flight.

Oh I couldn’t wait to hear voice,

hear call my name,

life seemed to have taken a road , promise and change.

But who is this fool left standing here,

nothing left to show, empty promise of love

nothing left to hold.

Fool! Go back into your box, stay well back out of the light,

you can not, no you will not , ever , ever learn to smile.

Fool.Did you really think she could hold you close,

did you really think she cared?

Man take a look at yourself, there is grey in that hair.

Fool. Go back into the shadows. You’ve lived a live , go on

this isn’t a place for you, pack up , go home, you’re done.
