A foreigner is from a different culture but don’t let that fool you.

A foreigner is from a different culture

His language may be different from English

Be it Spanish, Russian, Japanese,

Cantonese or Urdu

- – -

Those that speak English

May speak with an accent

That may be difficult to understand

But don’t let that fool you

They’re just as intelligent

He may hold different ideas

Than most Americans

Because he practices a different faith

Be it Islam, Buddhism, or Hinduism

For it should be remembered

That he was raised

And worshiped differently

- – -

Whether that individual hailed

From the Horn of Africa

The mountainous regions of Mongolia

The desert of Arabia

Or the rich farmlands of France

He’s a human being

- – -

He may be black, white, yellow or red

Rich, poor, wise or foolish

But still he has blood and bones

Covered with flesh

A brain, an intellect, a soul

And can use his imagination

As one of God’s children

Is capable of doing
