A poem to celebrate Bon Fire Night in UK – which is on five November 2010.

Yay, In UK today it’s Bonfire Night,

Thank God the Fire Brigade called off their strike.

We will be putting on Spectacular displays,

everyone – young and old, we will amaze.

Friends in America, Asia etc, please join us.

I have organised a Private Jet to bring you across.

For those in Europe, hop on a Ferry,

with a bottle of wine, for the BonFire Party.

I will certainly be having fun,

feeling like a Nun on the run.

Today the 5th of November,

will certainly be a night to remember.

Hi LE-In fact this Friday happens to be the biggest night of fireworks back home, as this is “Deepawali” day here, though I won’t be participating this year. Nice sweet poem.

this is such a beautiful poem. it captures the liveliness of Bob Fire Night. i joined in today aswell. i enjoyed reading it several times before commenting. the words reminded me of the famous song, “remember remember the fifth of November”. thanks very much for the lovely share, so perfect for the day and night too. :)

LadyE…Damn, I missed that private jet! So is your Bonfire/Fireworks Night the same as what used to be referred to as Guy Fawkes Day? Something a bit more elaborate than our Hallowe\\\\\\\’en…In Detroit, the night before Hallowe\\\\\\\’en (October 30) was referred to as Devil\\\\\\\’s Night…not sure if it still goes by that name…anyway I like this neat little poem and voted to say so…thanks and take care
