This is a poem about enduring friendship and companionship.

A friend of mine

Towed the line.

She kept me alive

In a lonely time.

Now I find,

I need her much.

Our friendship was

The one I remember

And my soul she touched.

We are apart now,

And she is on my mind

Her name is Laura,

And she is still a friend I find.

I think of her often,

And send her little notes

I tell her “I still care”.

And I put it in quotes.
