We travelled on a Fun Tours bus to go gambling at a casino in Harrington, DE, but on our way back to Norfolk, VA, we had to temporarily abort our trip as we approached the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel, because of a storm had arisen with lightning and high winds.

The Fun Tours bus

Was ready for all

60 of us

At Lake Wright

In Norfolk, VA

- – -

On a beautiful day

We were making our way

To a casino in Harrington, DE

- – -

It was to be a typical trip

About four hours long

As the coach progressed

North on Route 13

We played games of

Free bingo

On the Virginia side

And a passenger won

A trip to either

Harrington or Dover

Downs, DE

- – -

A little over an hour

We reached a rest stop

In Maryland

Where we used

The bathrooms

And stretched our legs

Then in 15 minutes

We were on the road again

- – -

Once in Maryland

We began playing bingo

For cash

At a dollar a pop

We played six games

With each winner

Making around 12 dollars

- – -

When the bus pulled

Into the casino and raceway

Around 11 in the morning

Our hostess contacted

A casino official

That told us

What we could expect

Gave us cards for a buffet

And 15 dollars in free slot play

- – -

The passengers made

A dash to the casino

In drizzling rain

To try their luck

And enjoy their buffet

- – -

By 4:15 after I had eaten

Having tried every conceivable machine

From Sex in the City to Monopoly

All of my money was gone

But I was very much entertained

- – -

On our way back

There was

More bingo

And we watched Second Hand Lions

A 2003 American film

That tells the story

Of a young lad

- – -

We stopped at the rest stop

On the Virginia state line

And headed once more

South on Route 13

For the Chesapeake Bay

Bridge Tunnel

- – -

We were about an hour away

When a tractor trailer

Pulled over our bus

To alert the driver

That the Bay Bridge Tunnel

Was closed because of high winds

- – -

Our driver drove to a Stingray

Restaurant on the Eastern Shore

Where we planned to wait

Until further notice

After about 20 minutes

We received an all clear signal

At this time

There was no longer

A three mile back up

And we proceeded to make it

Safely back to Lake Wright
