We are born free,

     beholdened not to suppression; 

We can do what we please

      through humility, not aggression;

 Within the purview of laws

        of logic and reasoning;

  Social requirements,

         maturing and seasoning;

   If we follow the path

           of truth unswerving,

    Along a straight line

             not crooked or curving,

     We might see our objective

               vividly looming;

      If we deviate  purposely

                 from ways that are

       Consistently positive,

                  productive by far,

         We’d lose our bearing

                   Stumble upon

           Our own uncaring,

                     Stranded and torn

            From what we aspire;

                       When we do the things

              That our souls desire,

                         The wings of success

                Soar blissfully higher.
