A ghost named Boo.

Once there was a ghost named Boo.

He was so lonely and longed for a friend or two.

Day in, and day out Boo floated around the graveyard looking for a friend.

And he wondered if this eternal loneliness would ever end.

Then one day, while sitting on a headstone, an idea came to him

and he thought “If they won’t come to me, then I’ll go to them!”

Boo went to his resting place to retrieve his things

and, as he packed, he though of all the wonderful feelings a friend would bring.

He thought of the happiness, the sadness, the joy and the pain

as he rushed down the road in the pouring rain.

He came to a house on the street that was small in size

and he wondered what it looked like on the inside.

Boo knew that there was only one way to find out, so he went up and rang the bell.

Then the lady of the house began to yell.

Boo tried his best to calm her down.

But he realized this wouldn’t happen as long as he was around.

Boo bowed his head and turned around

and floated into the middle of town.

Boo sat on the fountain and made circles with his hand,

and wondered why he couldn’t make friends.

No matter what he tried things always turned out bad,

and this made little Boo so very sad.

As tears ran down little Boos face

he thought of this one little home and thought that it looked like a very nice place.

It was a small white house with a yard and a white picket fence.

As he floated towards the house he wondered if anyone would wince

at the sight of a ghost roaming their house,

for Boo knew that he was quieter, and cleaner, than a mouse.

Boo gathered up his courage and went up to the door

he paused, then he wondered what he was waiting for.

Was he waiting for a reaction from someone when they saw him and screamed?

Was he waiting for the imagination of a young child as they looked at him and beamed,

beamed with eyes of joy?

This reaction can only come from the heart of a girl or boy.

Boo looked through the window and saw a young child of about two.

Boo closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and wondered on through,
