This song / poem is about my ex-girlfriends and girls I liked that could have turned out better than they were. Sometimes I’ve tried to think of what I could’ve done to save the relationships, but realized that it’s not the girl and the relationship that should be dwelled on, but what you learn from it to make the next relationship better and that is what’s worth keeping. The girls in the song range from girlfriends, girls I liked from High School, College, work, etc.

A Girl Like You

how could I forget a face like yours

I see you pass me by like

            the fall of leaves

my  heart begins to beat faster

             when I see her

you know winds blow east

             when the sun travels west

when I’m with a girl like you,

            a girl like you.

the days become predictable

            with each cluster

some are smooth and gentle

while others are sharp and hard

I become aware that I am not alone

             in this endless wake

the hours seem so short and

I wonder am I just dreaming?

and after worlds collide we can move on to the next knot

ohh Alice,  —————————————you know

how could I forget about you

your curly blonde hair

and blue eyes remain so true

there’s no heart of mine that could resist        a mind that pours

I shame to say I’m not keen enough to be the one that’s yours

wasted days, playful hours how could I ever resist a girl like you?

a girl like you

a day like no other

where minutes seem to beat like hours

with a girl like you it will last forever

with a girl like you

a girl like you

my mind tells me things

            I don’t want to hear

things that don’t feel right

             to persuade to use

my brothers tell me that’s

            what its there for
