Young love, with a speed bump a long the way, and finally a confrontation.
Sara thought there was nothing left
She always cried herself to sleep
she bore a burden of great heft
and it always made her weep
Her father always drank
her mother was never home
long ago her heart sank
she lost all she had known
Sometimes anger would feel dad
but sara never knew why
she would suffer through the mad
always praying she wouldnt die
As sara was sitting outside one day
she watched the movers across the street
she had new neighbors across the way
that she decided she’d go meet
she knocked on the door
and waited for it to unfold
she saw him and began to adore
it was the one of which she’d dreamt she’d hold
He locked with her heart
before even a night
they knew what was about to start
it was love at first sight
the boys name was john
sara was happy at last
it would always go on
they were both holding fast
one night, john was sleeping
when he heard a sound across the street
he snuck to her house to find her weeping
in a dark corner with tears on her cheeks
Johnny started to walk over
as her father walked in
the smell of whiskey moreover
Johnny knew this had to end
Johnny stood toward him firm
Daddy commanded him to go
he was here to, protect her
And he strongly told him… No.
