We make the mistake of judging people by their appearance, which might not be a very good idea. Sometimes the most ordinary looking people achieve the most extraordinary feats. Sometimes, the people who we scorn at put us to shame by their actions. So my friends, read on…..and next time, before you judge someone, I am sure this little message will flash through your minds!
One little child walked up to me
In a crowded city mall,
She was such an ordinary little thing
You wouldn’t notice her at all.
She opened her palms in front of me
I thought she wanted money
I fished into my jacket pocket
And tossed across a penny.
As I started looking away from her
She tugged at my jacket,
To my utter disbelief
She pointed at my pocket.
I shooed her away
She let out a squeak,
A penny didn’t satisfy her I thought,
Such a little creep.
Again, as I took my first step on
She stopped me on my way
She held out her palm again
What I saw blew me away.
On her little dirty palm
I saw my golden chain
The one I thought someone stole from me
And tried to search in vain.
There I stood with shame and guilt
In a crowded city mall,
In front of me was an ordinary little thing
Who you wouldn’t notice at all.
Don’t judge by faces my friends
You will certainly be wrong
I shared with you today my friends
A lesson I will remember lifelong.
