Something comical just happened
As I’m sitting outside for some air
Along came a momma deer
Who of my presence wasn’t aware.

A few moments later the sweetest little fawn
With white spots all over his back
Slowly and quietly came in to view
Stopping by momma for a snack.

Then as I sit here watching them
A sad thought came to mind
For the other day two fawns followed mom
Though a second one I could not find.

Then all of a sudden
Seemingly out of nowhere
The second fawn came a prancing
Without the slightest care.

He was so comical I could almost hear him say
Hey You Guys! Wait for Me!
As he had quickly gotten over the idea that he may have had
About how much fun it would be to run free.

As I don’t think momma deer was out of sight for too long
Just long enough to give him a scare
As just like a child his memory’s still real short
For now he and his brother run around without care.

But just as soon as momma decided
We best be on our way
Both of the fawns just walked by her side
Knowing later there’d be, more time for play.

Then up the hill and through the woods
I watched all three disappear
And as I sit here still with a smile on my face
I’m feeling quite blessed, to witness something so dear.
