These pictures show a love once true
I stare into those eyes so blue
The haunting memory of those words
Something I thought would remain unheard

These pictures show a love once true
Something I walked into once, brand new
My heart unscratched, my love, unscaved
But errors caused the heart to pay

These pictures show a girl and a boy
Who ended up used, treated as a toy
The relationship failed, both hearts broken
By actions, and words not wanting to be spoken

These pictures burn, a love now lost
Not expecting to pay, broken hearts were the cost
Of stupid mistakes, errorful ways
When they would have grown into better days

These pictures fade away into the fire
Burning no longer with loving desire
They burn no longer with heartache’s cost
His eyes were left, they seemed so lost

The pictures fade and fall to ash
There in an instant, gone in a flash
The works of love can fall the way they do
Burning up a love once true
