Sadness can get you down but there is a way to banish it with the joy of Nature.

If you’re depressed

And the doldrums continue,

What’s effectively best

Is to try and renew

Your pleasure and gladness,

That the world in its madness

Not persecute you.

There’s a way to do it:

Go down to the beach;

You may lie down or sit;

This way you can reach

To the top of your spirit,

With the ocean near by,

And the sun shining high;

Where gulls keep squawking,

Waves lapping the shore,

Folks picknicking, frolicking,

There’s so much in store!

Children playing around

And the birds ocean-bound;

Moms cautiously vested

With performing what is

But humanly tested;

Where breathing is bliss;

The fresh air, the ocean

Are together in motion;

As if the whole world

Is full of the peace

That is gently unfurled

In the soft ocean breeze,

And you’re never alone

While your sadness is gone!

    I live next to the ocean, albeit rather cold, but the scene you have portrayed is beautiful and true to life! I enjoy those moments alone and with the pieces of wood and sand and crabs and wind and smells – oh! Thanks!
