A macaw breaks free from his owner’s home and ends up outside high on a tree-top where he could not be reached. Since he loved him so much realizing all was lost he shed a tear and said goodbye.
Talking birdie where are you
You’ve flown away
Where could you be?
- – -
You lived with me in my home
And love to sit upon a dome
But don’t forget you’re my own
- – -
Red, yellow and blue you’re
And with a round black beak
You pecked your way to freedom
By which you found your kingdom
- – -
You claimed those rights
By escaping to a field outside
When I tried to reach you
You flew high into an oak tree
There you sat and rather be
- – -
High above you watched me
Refusing to heed my call
You’re free now
I know it when I suffered a fall
- – -
You’re no longer cooped up
For all to see
I shed a tear bidding you farewell
Bye, bye, I wish you well
You will always be my sweet Bell
