This is another poem that I wrote while going through an awful breakup with (who I thought to be at the time was) the love of my life. It came to me whole sitting outside at night on my balcony.

Full moon tonight,
A bright round face,
Mirrored by this lake,

Each breeze,
These waves-dark blue,
-give back-
White-diamond peaks they make,

…A beautiful broken silence,
Witness water touch the sky,
Knee-deep,
Waist-deep,
Inhale,
Lay back,
Look up,
And say goodbye,

Adrift I am,
If hope shall float,
Determined then, am I!
To ride these waves and touch the moon,
Where water meets the sky,

For when we choose to let things go,
We are never truly alone,
God carries my burdens now,
And I am almost home…

(at times, we must disregard ‘reality’ if it leads us from our dreams)
