Imade this poem for a very special friend of mine, she had to feel the continous pain of seing her son going in and out of prison.
You’ve been inside a few times now
But the pain never gets easier on my heart
As I miss you my darling son
My heart aches when we are apart
Christmas has been and gone now
I felt lonely not having you near
I want the old you, my Danny boy
Because you’re so special to me dear
As the new year comes around
I ask and beg the lord above
To bring to you my Danny boy
A better future with lots of love
Because although you may not realise
You have a heart so true
No-one deserves the best in life
Then you my darling you
So whilst you are away from me
Remember how much I love you son
Please remember the wishes I made for you
As this new year begun
