A poem about treating all your lovers as if it were your first.
I am a painter, I ask that you take away my brush and canvas.
I also am a poet so please take away my pen and paper.
I am an explorer so please take away my atlas.
My fashions are taken away too, I’m naked so feel my vapor.
Stay close, Don’t go far.
All my organs and body parts are protected except my heart.
It pumps faster than a speeding car.
Yet my body will never move, my heart is unprotected to even start.
My heart has been shattered a thousand and one times.
And in all the possible hard ways I still don’t learn.
But I feel that if I change because of a man is one of the worst crimes.
So the other can get what he earns.
Its not fair if I treat him differently from my first because of a past mistake.
He should get a fair trial to my heart and as innocent as it is, it knows how to repair itself.
It has learned how to sense when the shatter comes before it breaks.
So then it can start weeping before time and right after like a wound it’ll start to relieve itself.
Love will not hurt me, so I’ll patiently wait for true love to find its way.
Hopefully, love is you.
My heart is naked no ribs to protect it, don’t descend it, for my heart I’ll pray.
Be careful with the decisions you do.
So world and your mystical forces, just give me the cue.
My heart isn’t fragile, It just needs protection from you.
