This poem is about caring for those in need. It is also a reminder of the concept of “reaping what one sows” – and the importance of being giving towards others in need – as we may find ourselves in a similar predicament, and rely on others to help us out as well.

Their eyes

I avoid.

They stare.

I run.

Still…I am moved.

They sit.

I watch.

From rain

they hide.

Yet…I am moved.

They search

to eat.

They look

to me.

Now…I am moved.

Their arms

held out.

They hunger

for love.

How…I am moved.

On dirt

they lay.

With nothing

to cover.

And…I am moved.

Now naked

I am

No shelter

to cover.

When…are you meved?
