This is about getting out of my town, finding a friend, and finally moving on with my life.

Promise the Moon then love the sky
He takes my every light,
Wait I… I think I see him coming.
This life is long without dreaming.
But through the darkness
There must be a rosy dawn,
And from that settles the thickest air.
I wonder what it’s like to dance by myself
When they don’t stand on the side
Watching and speaking quietly.
I ask for change, but some say it’s too soon
When all I really want is someone
To tell me they believe in me
And humble my overwhelming need
To turn my back on this forsaken town.
Just because I run doesn’t mean I’m weak;
I’ve struggled for every god damned breath the past 17 years,
I think it’s only fair to let me breathe.
Asking permission for my lungs to expand…
Imagine what it’s like asking for a friend.
