A brand-new automobile – what a beautiful, shiny mechanized toy! Its body is absolutely wonderful. The engine and all the fancy components are perfectly tuned and raring to face what the world has to offer. Then, this car after several thousand miles on its drivetrain, doesn’t feel quite like it used to. And it doesn’t look as shiny as it once did, either. Things start to make noise and parts begin to break. This vehicle is beginning to show wear and tear.

            Our physical bodies can be compared to this automobile. We’re born into this world beautiful and shiny. Our bodies are absolutely wonderful. We grow and learn, eager to face our brand-new world.

            Then, time takes its toll on us and we don’t feel like we used to. Our bodies break down and show signs of wear and tear. But, for what it’s worth – this life we have has been one long, exciting, wild ride!
