A wise owl must be proven!
The night fell silent
The hums from the crickets eco through the forest
As the croaks from the bull frogs blare deep into the night
I awaken from my days deep sleep
Coming to my full senses
My eyes glisening in the moonlight rays
Scanning the forest floor for a mouthwatering snack
I lift off into the night
Opening my talents
preparing to be quick
Topping over the tree’s
Blazing into the midnight sky
While my flight loves softly and swift
Grasping the uprising current I slide under the cover of the trees
unnoticed, unseen, unheard, but I did
I swooped down like a arrow
Closing in on my prey, in the moment of truth
But it scambles and darts
Quick enough to stop my heart
With a tumble and a thump
I came crashing to the ground
Some feathers disengaged from flight
Sitting innocently amongst the leaves
I wasn’t quick enough
I was too quick to think
I lost my meal of the night
Now I sit perched uncomfortably on a broken branch
Realizing
You don’t become wise unless you learn to be!
