A plea for the old and disabled for help with fuel costs!!!

What about the disabled and what about the old? How do we survive in this present climate of cold? Is there no real help to keep ourselves all warm? Or do we walk around feeling cold and all forlorn?

People can’t afford to maintain their bodily heat Do we all just die and succumb to this defeat? Why not help us all and do a bit of good Treat us all most fairly as did good old Robin Hood

Don’t tax the poor so much but tax the rich instead Use their excess money to keep us better fed Better health and clinics to ensure we all are well This would be good progress that we would be proud to tell

Each time we ask for something at present we’re told to go All we get in reply is a hard resounding ‘No! ‘ Each year we hear of thousands money that hasn’t been claimed The truth of the whole matter is the money is just not paid

We’re told that we’re entitled and should not fear to ask All these government promises simply do not last When we go to social offices we are merely frowned upon All feelings of self respect and decency have gone

It’s easy to punish the weak by stopping all their cash Just because the government has made a financial hash So easy to punish us all as we don’t have a right to say In the realms of poverty we are condemned to stay

If money must be saved government punishes the weak It doesn’t seem to matter if we end up on the street As long as the rich get richer and they make a high financial score The old, disabled and poor just don’t matter any more,
