A Poem About Glory to Gossip

Tags: boss, bully, folks, gossip, plumes, round table, tea

An everyday situation.

One with contacts higher up

could be empty headed by far

going about barring others

thinking they too are at par.

The others at a disadvantage

cannot retaliate or fight back

having their stake right there,

lest they be asked to pack.

Alternative, a cup of tea

to vehemently sip and sip

with folks from different quarters

yet cohort in gossip.

The table round, introduced folks

they got familiar

discovered their recurring grievances were

vastly similar.

Resolved they in confidence

never to be cowed again

by the self proclaimed in plumes, alas!

gossip eased their pain

I agree with Star. Gossips can do so much damage if they are listened to. A beautifully expressed poem.

Office gossip does seem to de-stress some members of staff- as long as it’s not about them.
