Just because you are a child of God, doesn’t mean you must allow yourself to be played for a fool. This poem speaks to those who don’t know how to say no to the unrighteous and encourages believers to stay strong.

So you’re consecrated, yet

they want you to feel obligated.

“Help me!

Loose me!

Join me!

Pray for me!”

Did God move you to do,

what they ask?

Always putting you to task,

until you say, “No,

I got to go.”

Devil can’t stay here,

no room for fear!

He wants to dominate your life–the devil

but God has taken you to a new level!

Trying to bind you with worry,

pressuring you to hurry.

Holy Spirit reminding you of your beliefs

while the ingrates stay sleep.

Didn’t walk down the narrow aisle

to hold your brother’s hand for a mile.

For you are just as weak,

still learning how to be meek.

You haven’t found this walk to be easy,

sometimes it can get breezy.

Being blown all around,

you can easily fall down.

Just because one is saved,

doesn’t mean he or she will always behave.

This walk isn’t about one’s mother,

nor is it about his brother.

God has to give you the power,

to stand until your last hour.

So when they look at you,

expecting you to do, do, do!

Pay no attention to eyes,

and don’t fall for the lies!

Because those of us who know,

it doesn’t pay to put on a show.

Just lay low and stay blessed,

be prepared for your next test.

And who knows what might happen,

for your God knows best!
