I crave your commentary.

What makes human beauty forever dance
In a heartbreaking sodden spiral?
How does my presence make itself felt
in a world so digitally viral?

If I pause a moment to take a fast breath
Will I then have more time to waste?
And what of my heart’s one and only command
So devoutly and fervently chased?

I am connected to the red, red rose of desire
And lights on the screaming ambulance.
I am trying not to die, and happily, thus far
I continue by the grace of happenstance.

I am beautiful to see, but even unseen
I remain as I am, still beautiful.
For I have done all that is required of me,
I am nothing if not dutiful.

I spin my words, some frail, some bold
Some laced with power incandescent.
And because I have this chance to sing
My spirit remains effervescent.

But less talk of me, and more of you
Lest you think me indelibly rude.
I care what you think of what I have shared
Lest my meaning get lost or misconstrued.

Do you savor these words, do you read them with care
Or do you scan them with casual haste?
Do my thought convey form unto you
Or has it all gone terribly to waste?

Speak to me, dear reader, answer my plea
Let me know what you want me to write.
For if, for a moment, I thought I was wrong
I would move mountains to make thing all right.

Great poem and very well constructed. We are living in a fast-pace technology driven world. More time is spent conversing in the forum’s these days than actual reading and commenting. The forum has it’s place, but easy to waste too much time there. Well done friend.

I think that most of the things any of us do with our time (these days)are never given the time they are due.

Your writing/poetry speak volumes to me. Often echoing feelings and perceptions which I have not taken the time to put in my own words or may not have the time or mental energy to do so right now. Sun shines out of your poems which are as beautiful as they are human. I do take the time to read and ingest, Reilly.
It is unfortunate that ‘life’ – can not be how we always want it to be. But if roses did not bloom – we would not be able to smell them. The sweet scent of your ‘roses’ – have a healing quality.
It was you who told me never to give up writing, and I would like to return to you the favor,: “Never give up writing.”

WHOA. I love the deftness of this poem as it’s expressed on many levels.

Hm. “Indelibly rude”? (”Pause now, Morocco, and weigh…with an even hand.”) I never quite know what to do with a poet who boasts of his own beauty and ability, even a Shakespeare, unless he’s a Dante who’s both humble enough and skilled enough to get away with it. Projection: “fishing for compliments” is something that’s been long characteristic of me, so there’s an aspect of your poem that’s reminiscent of my earlier poetry. (If there’s boasting going on, at least these days it’s in the lips or viewed through the senses of my literary alter ego. :) )

Because the perspectives and the references change from line to line, I found it a bit difficult at first to reconstruct your underlying thought patterns. But it is worth taking the time to read the poem with care, so that one’s “introverted intuiting” has time to “connect the dots”. (That kind of intuition isn’t my long suit, apparently. I have to open up my subconscious considerably before I can access it, and even then it takes considerable energy.)

Well, for one thing it would be nice if you wrote comments for my latest posts! :) Other than that, more well-wrought stuff like this, the more the merrier (even if I, like you, am pressed for time to read the work of other Triond authors).

I always love reading your poetry. No matter what you write about it is so peaceful and really expresses life. It helps me remember how simple the complications of every day life really are and it calms my soul to think about the things that you describe. My favorite one is the one about reincarnation. I know that one really grabbed me. It meant a lot to me to read and imagine the different life stories. Thank you
