Oh boy here we go again
The weekend’s coming in
It’s supposed to be nice and quiet here
So I’m pretty ready for it to begin.

My sister’s family is supposed to go away
Leaving me in charge of things here
With 22 cats and a dog as company
My time should easily be filled with cheer.

Of course it’s a lot of work as well
But I don’t really mind
For I’m not the one that’s going away
And leaving ‘my babies’ behind.

They are supposed to leave by 6 pm tonight
The drive takes 6 hours or more
I know I’m glad that I’m not going
As I’m not fond of long rides like before.

On Saturday I have an on-line conference call to attend
So things should be real quiet here for a time
Then I have a couple of DVDs to watch
For later in the evening when time is all mine.

I have lots of overdue notes to write
A couple of calls I should make
Lots of work I intend to get done
Whatever it might take.

I’m not sure what the weather will bring
But whatever is fine by me
For I know no matter what the weather is
Here with my cats I will happily be.

But the weekends fly by so darn fast
That Sunday will be here soon
But that’s OK for whatever the day
The quiet won’t end till some time past noon.

And since Sunday’s supposed to be a day of rest
And I’m certain tired they all should be
I could actually have a really lucky day
With more stolen quiet just for me.
