Sometimes we forget the things we taught ourselves. Sometimes we remind ourselves for our own good and that of others.
Have you forgotten this simple thing?
This reality about your life
Have you forgotten the method to remove your strife?
Everything you see and know is made of you
Dreams and fictional fantasy
Is the world made of you
Projections of you own strife
Fill your mind with dread
Reflections of your own mind
Casting shadows you fear
Things you know to be inside
Surrounding you now
Still you strike out my friend
Making and enemy of yourself
With judgment and criticism
Of things that are simply you
Turned in now on yourself how can you think to win
A battle against yourself – where will it end?
A rage at your own face you see
Reflected back at you
From the polished surface friend
Of the world around you
You would not know it if it were
Something different or strange
You would not understand it friend
If it weren’t in you
You attack others see with the judgments of yourself
That you see coming to you from their innocent eyes
You attack yourself my friend and the innocent too
You wage war on your demons friend
But they are simply you
You cast your violent thoughts on them
Who are made of you
You hurt others see just to think it’s true
That they are somehow responsible for things you do
You are the aggressor friend stop and know it’s true
You are only hurting them and yourself too
Do not waste your time on shame or dread of punishments
For you are your own judge in this thing you do
Free yourself of these silly lies
That you’re a victim of someone else
Free yourself of these silly lies
That you love yourself
Know that you are killing me and your own life too
With attacks on these things that you made yourself
See that I am simply you
Reminding yourself of what you choose to do
