I’m a reporter.

What will I do to get an important story?

Cheat? Lie?

What will I do to move ahead in my company?

Use a hidden microphone,

To capture unsuspecting sources?

What will I do to appear important?

Plagiarize? Bug telephones?

Break into offices to get unsolicited information?

Abuse my clients’ confidentiality?

What will I do to keep my job?

Cover stories at others’ expense?

Be political?

But what can I do to begin being my true self?

Be fair!  Be honest!

What can I do to be exceptional?

Be truthful! Thoughtful!

Dedicated! and ethical!

My job is strew with conflicts.

A prize always seems to glitter before my eyes.

That’s won when my audience says,

“A job well done.”

It’s the strength of my character that counts,
