Like the true shepherd, You will deliver Your lamb…

Babuk’s Cry, while he was trapped in the swamp.

I have come looking for Our friend
He could not be found
A shadow has come upon me
and I have been caught by the cords of the wicked. Selah
The vines of their treachery ensnare me
They taunt me with evil talk
However I am not moved
I remember your joy of old. Selah
I praise You even now O Lord.
For You are greater than all.
Like the true shepherd You will deliver Your Lamb.
Though the wolves stalk me; with Your staff shall You beat them off. Selah
I WILL WAIT UPON YOU.
I will think of how to help Your children who come.
For I am nothing.
I shall be brave even now yes I shall be brave.
Praise to the Lord of the Realms Forever.
Amen.

Wonderful, wonderful job. This really touches my heart, on its own poetic and religious merits — let alone on how it expresses the worldview of one of my characters and of his fictional Realm.

NOW you’ve done it. :) Now I’ll have to think about what Chris Alan Starbright, Starbard Level Five, would write – what comes to my heart is, what would he think and write about on the way to help in this very situation?
