This is a number of un-related poems, off the top of my head, on August 27, 2011. Many were just stuck in my mind for years, and I decided to share them. I have used poetic license to paraphrase some things that may have been originally created by some other person, but I have not purposely tried to copy any one else’s work. (If you think I have, let me know, and I will remove or change it).
Yesterday, I lost my job
Today, my wife said I’m a slob
I sure love my life you see
‘Cept at times I want to live in a tree
One daughter’s in jail
The other has a new male
I sure love my gals
Just wish I’d be one of their pals
Bein’ a dad Steven Cross took it in stride
Abandoned his son then went off to hide
Perhaps to look for Noah’s ark
Instead is now sleeping in a city park.
“There’s a sucker born every minute”
Said P. T. Barnum long ago.
How ’bout fools, I wonder
They go watch hurricanes, tsunamis, and are swept to sea.
Here I sit
Broken hearted
Came to shit
But only farted
Here I sit
Not elated
Came to defecate
But only flatulated
It’s another Sunday Morning
And I ain’t got no ice cream
Got some soda ’cause I just robbed the fridge
Think I’m in an awful dream…
