We were promised to one another long ago…

I saw you standing there
Standing in the doorway
With that look in your eyes…
A shiver went up my spine

Your face weathered by time
More beautiful than ever
Holding me captive still…
A shiver went up my spine

Your eyes shimmer fierce
A glance burning with passion
Full of wanton longing…
A shiver went up my spine

A memory of recognition
A breathless gasp uttered
A dawning come to fruition…
A shiver went up my spine

A time once remembered
Knowing each other when
A past long forgotten…
A shiver went up my spine

We knew one another
Before we ever met
A promise once upon a yore…
A shiver went up my spine

so Sunshine, is this like two past lives coming together or is sort of a Deju Vu? I think I spelled it correctly. Nevertheless I like the format and the style. Frank

In this poem the speaker seems to have met the person she was meant to be with, as if their mutual want and love had been arranged. It’s a nice literary device.

I like the idea of two past lives coming together. Two souls cut from the same cloth returning one as sewn by the fabric of time.

Only one man managed to send shiver up my spine, but we parted and each of us happily moved on with our lives. The one I am with now, shake rattle and roll my heart :) Beautiful write my friend!

one has giving me the shiver, only once.
I was blown away, was young and very impressionable,
he was not mine to have , but still I will never forget that feeling.

Remembering love from a past life does send awesome shivers throughout the entire body! Nice that we can still have that…..”Knowing each other when” feelings come alive. Good write!
