When she says no, it’s no….

Image via Wikipedia

She waited awhile,

hesitated,

then she would smile,

she was head of the family,

and she had to show,

as she was slowly shaking her head,

and mouthing the word ” no”,

her eyes twinkled with amusement,

as her child faked a cry,

he would try

to get his way,

but when she says no, it’s no,

and that’s all she had to say.

My children were like that, but wow, the grand kids are so different. No, just bounces off their heads. Oh how the times have changed.

Your poems echo the truths and sometimes the ugliness of our human condition…..great work Frank!

No is still no at Gramma’s house. That is why when I send my grandson to bed he goes, but he argues with his mother.
