Thoughts and reflections on the risks of life taken from the point of view of a skydive.
A Slave to Gravity
Human beings were not meant to fly
Gravity you cannot simply defy
Try as you will and try as you might
Never shall a human take flight
Yet flying is boring, simple, mundane
And that’s why man invented the plane
The rush, the fear, the power of it all
Can only be felt in the thrill of the fall
Fear is good, it heightens the sense
The feeling, the virtue of the immense
The rush, the roar, the sound of death
The feel of the end, the darkness and yet…
The tug of safety, the sense of relief
The sadness it’s over, a strange kind of grief
We all need more risks so we can test defeat
And help us live a life fulfilled and complete
