An appeal from a man who chose to be a soldier for people to understand and accept his choice.

I am a soldier, that what I chose to be.
I sacrifice my life for peace,
because that’s what I love to do.
Some chose to be doctors, teachers, engineers,
but I chose to a soldier because that’s what I love.
Yes, I chose to be a fighter,
not for myself but for my country, yes for peace.
Some do not understand why.
They gather around government offices,
raising banners written “bring our boys home”,
and I wonder, don’t they understand,
Army is my home now,
and battleground my favourite place,
because I am a soldier.
I fight for peace, not for myself,
but for my country.
Because I am a soldier,
That’s what I love.
Hope you will understand.

Nicely written. I bet it\’s hard to hear all the people back home trying to force you back for their own reasons. I don\’t remember hearing anything about a draft in America anytime recently. I am greatful for all the soldiers that have chosen to fight for freedom. God bless.
