Rain slides sideways in the stormLike a kiss from the windthe raindrop settles next to my faceblown by a soft summer breezethe kind of breeze that bringswith it lightning and thunder.
I think that raindrops mustfeel safety in numbers–why else would they fallall around the faces, the cheeks of thosethat they would like to meet.
The light drizzle and mistof June rain steamswhen it hits the hard hot ground. But the rain gains forceas it swells from cloudsthat hide the sun.
Another raindropstrikes my face justbelow my eye,and i pull myjacket justa little tighteras i walk down the streetand wonder.by Jefferson Brian Holbrook
