Poem.

Rain drops are falling,
Falling to the ground.
Landing in the puddles,
Dancing all around.
~
Then I see the lightening.
Streaking across the sky.
Shooting jagged in the clouds.
Lighting brightly in my eye.
~
I also hear the thunder,
Roaring from above.
Bellowing out it’s existence,
Boasting about it’s love.
~
I feel the wind blowing,
Bending back the trees.
Picking things up off the land,
Tossing them in it’s breeze.
~
I love to look out my window,
As I watch the storm clouds weep.
The rain drops dancing on my widow seal,
Hypnotizes me, soon I’m fast asleep.

You have done a good job describing a storm poetically, and to do this you have chosen right words.

This poem has the rhythem of a song; It reads very well when one says it outloud.

Check me out on the site. Will you?

I remember growing up, when my grandmother would make my brothers and sister and I lie down during a thunderstorm. She’d say “Be quiet and let God do His work”. Thanks for the reminder.

Lovely poem; I like to experience a storm in safety and I usually have a frightened dog shivering at my side.
