I took the time to compose this poem after a rather breathtaking display in the sky one morning.
Wearily waking, I opt to watch a slow sunrise.
Choosing a cool perch, calm at the chance to glance.
Stillness as shades start surrounding the skies.
Collisions of calamity, creating colors to enhance.
The purest of pinks and purples proudly perpetrate.
The nights navy blues begin to lose their true hues.
Orbiting obscurities offer glimmers of the ornate.
Causing havoc over the eyes casual casts to choose.
Affixed to an array of apparent arbitrarities.
Silent I sit seeking some simple solidarity.
Forgetting for moments fickle lifes frailties.
Relishing real beauty by recognizing its rarity.
It’s possible I’m happy, perhaps in partial peace.
Either way it is on this day, that I can say,
I spent a short span absent of a single cease,
Glad of the great gift that I see more than gray.
