A teacher not only teaches us the essentials of life but his teachings span eternal life times through his students, children, and those that eventually transfer their knowledge from colleague to colleague at work and play.

Have you ever wondered

About that teacher

You love so much

The one who will do anything

To see you succeed

- – -

He’s my number one person

Was responsible

For the future of my life

He influences eternity

- – -

It’s not only my future

But everything that follows

My children

And my children’s children

- – -

You’ll never suspect it

For my teacher is simple

But wise

“Stay the course,” he’ll say,

“And good things will follow”

- – -

You follow his advice

You sat at his feet

Paid rap attention

And just like

He advised

You were able to perform

To the best of your ability

- – -

Thank God!

You’re now a success story

And are in a position

To transfer your knowledge

To those you impact

Then those touched by you

Will transfer their knowledge

To others and on and on

- – -

That’s the way it is

For this cycle

Keeps moving on

It’s for eternity

I am a retired teacher and know how important it is to educate and work to the strengths of each child. The poem expresses this so well.
